SPMETHGNOLRERUDTUÈPAC 2026
This assemblage painting explores the concepts of intimacy and illness.
It is an acrylic painting on a loose canvas measuring 1,10 by 1,47meters, onto which objects are attached, extending the paint onto the floor (jacket, stuffed animal, towel, ...).
It depicts a part of a messy bedroom, my living space, neglected and chaotic, a state created every 35 days for the past 10 years due to menstrual pain, or which became my daily reality during the three months where I was depressed, because of hormonal treatment I took to alleviate this suffering. It also reflects my physical and mental health, despite the absence of a humanbeing, as the state of my apartment mirrors the state of my mind and body. The viewer observes this work from a top view, as if observing from a distance, given that the canvas is 1 meter lower than in a typical hanging position. They can see that slightly hazy moment when you come back to yourself, when you fully regain your senses and realize your state and the state of your living space after these difficult times. Once you've managed to get up, still tired, and you've realized that your bed is overturned and you've left the package that was as your meal the day before on the floor, next to your clothes and your cluttered laptop that's been plugged in since 10hours, in short, this physical mess mirroring the psychological one.
